Welcome to SDRA-2017!
Wednesday Dec 07, 2016
Both past SDRA events were a great success, with lots of excellent talks and also with high quality video recordings that can be watched on our Youtube channel. In 2017 we are also going to stage an SDRA event as part of the HAMRADIO fair in Friedrichshafen. We expect it to be even bigger, and possibly we are going to extend it to two days, depending on the amount of contributions we will receive.
In addition to that we are proud to say that the management board of the Deutscher Amateur Radio Club e.V. has decided to create a formal working group "SDRA" which reports directly to the president. The SDRA organisation team has the ear of the top level DARC executives, which is great news for the recognition of SDR technology within the domain of Amateur Radio.
As in the past years, we are preparing to stage another SDR Academy event which has the following goals:
The Software Defined Radio Academy has the following goals:
- Support and drive institutional and personal research around Software Defined Radio
- Establish a conference where SDR developers can meet
- Attract Radio Amateurs and show paths into SDR
- Define a scientific format for talks, presentations and posters
- Define a publication platform together with the DARC publishing house
- Demonstrate modern radio technology to the interested public audience
The SDRA implements the procedures and the routine of a major scientific conference. Our publishing house (DARC Verlag GmbH) has agreed to take care of the publication of articles on most recent research. Depending on the amount of papers, we will create an independent proceedings document, or as alternative include papers in publications of other major Amateur Radio conferences. We also work with a Senior Programme Committee of three Scientists (professors) from German universities who are also Radio Amateurs.
Though we do not just want to address scientists, but the general Amateur Radio public. We welcome all contributions, tutorials, beginners' guides to SDR and the like. Even if you've never considered Software Defined Radio, we want to attract you as a listener with insightful information.
If you have conducted own research and experiments, please consider our Call For Papers:
